Financial Assistance to poor ST patients

Financial Assistance for medical treatment under the Department of Tribal Affairs & Hilsis meant for Scheduled Tribe patients who are economically weak with no Government employee to depend on. No Government employee/servant and their children/dependents shall be covered under this programme. The patients who have applied for grant of Financial Assistance are broadly grouped into three categories (A,B, & C) based on their illnesses/diseases.

Category A: Heart failure, Cancer, CKD, Liver Chirrhosis,major surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurology and other complicated diseases etc.

Category B: Uncomplicated TB, Kidney stones, Peptic ulcer, Diabetes, Gall stones, Moderate cases of all surgeries, Medicine, Gynaecology and other similar cases etc.

Category C: Typhoid, Malaria, Dengue, Dysentery, Chronic skin infections, Chronic Arthritis, Chronic sinusitis, Neuropathy and other similar cases etc.

The rate for each category may vary depending on the availability of funds and the number of genuine applications received. Any necessary revision of rates may be carried out with the approval of WAB/TA&Hills from time to time.

The sanctioned amounts are as follows:

  1. Financial Assistance to 570 ST patients was provided during the year 2020-2021, with a total amount of Rs. 45.00 lakh (Forty-five lakh)
  • Financial Assistance to893 ST patients was provided during the year 2022-2023, with a total amount of Rs. 99,85,000/-(Ninety-nine lakh eighty-five thousand only)
  • Financial Assistance to493 ST patients was provided during the year 2023-2024, with a total amount of Rs. 58,05,000/-(Fifty-five lakh and five thousand only)
  • Financial Assistance to739 ST patients was provided during the year 2024-2025, with a total amount of Rs. 1,55,00,000/-(One crore &fifty-five lakh only).
